What are views for?

Views are a central tool in the platform. You can create as many as you wish. Country specific, topic, crisis, project, briefing specific views, etc.

  1. Access to previously filter settings: Use them to save your filter settings to return to exactly the same settings later.

  2. Sharing: Views can be shared with colleagues or a (response) team. This ensures that everyone relates to the same filtered data, promoting consistency and collaboration across your team, e.g. when discussing or monitoring a situation.

  3. Create Alerts: Views are the base filter setting to create your alerts, streamlining your monitoring process.

Create a view

Once you have selected all your desired filters (see “Filters”), you can click on View and then choose to Save the View.

  • Add a meaningful title for the view, e.g. also including the purpose, like alert, security assessment, etc.

  • You may add a description which provides more context to colleagues (shared views), instructions (e.g. on related alerts) or a summary of settings used.

  • Click “Save

Find, edit, share your views

Click the “Views” button on the top right to open the list of all your views. With your number of views growing bigger you can:

  • Search for a view and/ or filter for pinned views.

  • Click “Apply” to activate the settings of your view on the map screen and list view.

To edit a view and more, click the three dots behind the view name. Here you can:

  • Set as default: You can define one of your views as your default, starting screen view which shows every time you return to SEE.

  • Pin your favorite views to filter for pinned views only.

  • Share: Click on share to open the share dialogue. Users which have access already will be listed. Search and select recipients, either by name for individual colleagues or existing tags for defined groups of users (e.g. teams). Click ”Share”. The users with access will be listed subsequently.

  • Edit: Saved views can be edited using “Edit” in the three dots menu anytime your needs change. You can edit title, description or any filter settings.

  • Create Alert: Saved views serve as a foundation for alerts. You can quickly create alerts ensuring that you’re notified of any new event matching the filter criteria of this view. See the article on “Alerts” for more detail.

  • Note (Share): 📝 When you share a view which includes interest which have not yet been shared with your recipients another dialogue will open to confirm whether you also want to share access to these interests. A swift way to ensure consistent access to data. If you do not want this, adapt/create a view with only those interests you want to share.

  • Note (Share): 📝 When sharing to "All" users have in mind that all future users will also receive access to this view. Consider sharing with specific users or user groups (tags) instead.

  • Important Note (Edit): 📝 When you edit a view that is also linked to an alert, any changes you make will automatically update the settings of that alert. Therefore, if you want to experiment with different configurations without affecting the existing alert, we recommend creating a copy of the view first and then customize the copy.
