What is SEE about?

SEE is designed to visualize what is happening around you and your interests.

  • It is your 24/7 monitoring solution, your GSOC function. The platform offers a map-based visualization of your interests in the context of global events delivered by your chosen data providers and our community.

  • Should a relevant event occur in a previously set proximity around your interest, respective alerts will immediately be triggered. You will see them on the map and in the notifications channel. Also, if set up, you will receive the alert via your selected channel, e.g. via E-Mail or WhatsApp.

  • With SEE, powerful tools for analysis and situational awareness are available to you.

šŸ” Use Case: Proactive Security Management in Action

Imagine you're a Security Operations Manager responsible for protecting global assets — including offices, supply routes, key personnel, and traveling staff.

With SEE, you’ve configured a real-time, map-based visualization of your critical interests: corporate HQs, client sites, transport infrastructure, and active travelers. The platform continuously monitors these elements based on your custom filters and alert settings.

One evening, a protest erupts near your headquarters. SEE detects the incident immediately and pushes a real-time notification to your preferred channel — whether that’s email, or the in-platform.

Opening SEE, you instantly visualize the protest’s proximity to your HQ and nearby travelers. You assess the threat level, check potential impact on key routes, and evaluate risks to both assets and personnel.

You then use SEE’s communication tools to notify the relevant response teams and traveling employees, share the alert with your crisis group, and activate your predefined protocol — all within the platform.

In just a few minutes, you've:

  • Detected the threat,

  • Analyzed its relevance and proximity,

  • Communicated with stakeholders,

  • And responded with speed and precision.

That’s the power of SEE: enabling proactive, coordinated, and intelligent security operations — all from one platform.

šŸ‘‰šŸ» Why SEE is a strategic advantage for your business:
SEE empowers organizations to respond faster, reduce risk exposure, and enhance cross-functional collaboration during crises. By transforming raw data into real-time intelligence, SEE enables rapid decision-making to protect people, safeguard assets, and ensure operational continuity in volatile environments.

Key Menus and Features Overview

Filters

Filters enable you to focus your analysis or minimize noise in alerts, ensuring that you are provided only with relevant information. Our menu allows you to easily filter:

  • Countries

  • Interests

  • Travellers

  • Keywords

  • Time Frames

  • Data Providers

  • Event Categories

For more information on filters, please have a look at our in-depth article "SEE - Filters." Once you have set your individual filters, you can save them as customized views and alerts. We“ll explain that below.

Filters allow teams to zero in on their own operation-specific risks—filtering out noise and focusing effort where it matters most. This improves productivity and decision-making, especially across multinational companies that have diverse global interests.

Layers

The Layers feature in the SEE module enables you to enhance situational awareness through visual overlays on the map. Once a specific overlay is applied, this will change how your map or data is displayed.

The Layers menu offers a variety of tools in six overarching categories:

  • Map Layers: It includes e.g. the Severity Summary and Threat Rating, which displays analyst threat scores by country and category. You can also use the Places Layer to display only airports on the map.

  • Display Mode: It allows you to activate/deactivate the display of events, Interests, Layers, and Travellers.

  • Event Mode: It lets you choose between a grouped or single display of events.

  • Event Visualization: For visualizing event density, the Heat Map offers a color-coded view, indicating varying levels of activity. An Area-of-Effect-Layer can also be applied.

  • Map Tools: Layers also provides essential Map Tools like Route, Pan, and Distance to facilitate navigation and measurement.

  • Map Types: you can switch between the Default Google view, Clean mode for better contrast, Satellite imagery, and Terrain mode to visualize physical landscapes.

Why it’s powerful:

Layers, teams can fast-identify hotspots and risk-prone zones on the map for visual prioritization, which empowers faster threat assessment and better stakeholder communication, especially for board-level updates or crisis meetings.

Views

Opens the views bar where you can save, find, or edit your views and alerts. With "Export View" you can also export a screenshot of your current view to share.

Search Bar

Interest Management

With this menu, you can see, search, filter, and manage all your interest. You also import, export, share or bulk delete interests here. As default, you see only interest within the current viewport. Using the viewport toggle gives you access to interests worldwide.

Events

This menu gives you a list view of all events within your viewport according to the current filter settings. You can search, see details and pin them to find them easily again. Toggle of the viewport to see events worldwide. You can also export the listed events for e.g. analysis in other tools.

Community

In the community section you find our Forum feed and the Event Comments feed. Forum is the place where anyone, including our analysts, can start conversations with a post on whatever security related topic they have in mind. You can either share internally with only your colleagues or make your post publicly available by engaging with all our users and analysts. Our analysts will post on developments of interest regularly.

Why it matters:

The community function turns SEE from a tool to an active knowledge-sharing platform. By sharing observations with industry peers and analysts, companies gain more nuanced insights and real-time feedback that can inform policy, strategy, or response.
