SEE as your point of departure

SEE is the starting point of your Creolytix experience and functions as the GSOC (Global Security Operations Center) part of the platform.
At the top of the screen, you’ll find the navigation bar. Use it to access or return to any module, such as SEE or UNDERSTAND.

Depending on your user role, the options you see in the navigation bar may vary, but most users will have access to SEE, UNDERSTAND, Data Providers, Users & Roles, Languages (German/English); Notification bell (check your most recent updates), and Profile.

The top bar also allows you to switch language πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§/ πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ, read your notifications πŸ””, and modify your user profile πŸ‘€ and preferences.

Notifications

In the Notifications section, you can choose to receive alerts for all events, only pinned events, or only unread ones. "Pinned only" will alert you to only those events which you have personally pinned. There is also the option to mark all notifications as "read" in just one click.

You can also pin the notifications bar to stay visible on your screen at all times, making it easier to keep track of important alerts.

Key menus & Features in SEE

Filters

Filters help you focus your analysis and reduce noise in alerts, ensuring that you only see the information that matters most.
You can easily filter by:

  • Countries

  • Interests

  • Travellers

  • Keywords

  • Time Frames

  • Data Providers

  • Event Categories

For more details on how to use filters, check out our in-depth article "SEE – Filters."
Once you’ve set your individual filters, you can save them as customized views and alerts β€” this process is explained in a separate article.

Creo.AI Search:
Try our AI-powered filter! Simply type what you're looking for β€” for example, "protests in Stockholm in the last three months related to Palestine" β€” and the filters will be applied automatically. πŸ”Ž

Layers

The Layers feature in the SEE module enables you to enhance situational awareness through visual overlays on the map. Once a specific overlay is applied, this will change how your map or data is displayed.

The Layers menu offers a variety of tools in six overarching categories:

  • Map Layers: It includes e.g. the Severity Summary and Threat Rating, which displays analyst threat scores by country and category. You can also use the Places Layer to display only airports on the map.

  • Display Mode: It allows you to activate/deactivate the display of events, Interests, Layers, and Travellers.

  • Event Mode: It lets you choose between a grouped or single display of events.

  • Event Visualization: For visualizing event density, the Heat Map offers a color-coded view, indicating varying levels of activity. An Area-of-Effect-Layer can also be applied.

  • Map Tools: Layers also provides essential Map Tools like Route, Pan, and Distance to facilitate navigation and measurement.

  • Map Types: you can switch between the Default Google view, Clean mode for better contrast, Satellite imagery, and Terrain mode to visualize physical landscapes.

Views

Views are a key feature in the platform, allowing you to save, reuse, and share specific filter settings.

You can create unlimited views β€” by country, topic, crisis, project, or briefing β€” and quickly return to them whenever needed. Views can also be shared with colleagues or teams to ensure consistent data interpretation and collaboration.
Additionally, views serve as the foundation for creating customized alerts, streamlining your monitoring process.

You can find more on views here "See - Views."

Search Bar

Find and monitor any location directly in the search bar.

Interests

With this menu, you can view, search, filter, and manage all your interests. You can also import, export, share, or bulk delete interests as needed.
By default, you will only see interests within your current viewport. Using the viewport toggle allows you to access interests worldwide.

Learn more about Interests here "SEE - Interests."

Events

This menu provides a list view of all events within your current viewport, based on your active filter settings.
You can search for events, view their details, and pin them for easy access later. By toggling off the viewport filter, you can view events worldwide.
You can also export the listed events for further analysis in other tools.

Community

In the community section, you find our Forum feed and the Event Comments feed. The forum is the place where anyone, including our analysts, can start conversations with a post on whatever security-related topic they have in mind. You can either share internally with only your colleagues or make your post publicly available by engaging with all our users and analysts. Our analysts will post on developments of interest regularly.
